Chris & Phil first met in 1990 at the legendary Hungry Years rock club in Brighton where Chris hosted the Wednesday rock nights and Phil was co-DJ on the Thursday student nights. After sharing a flat together in the early nineties they went on to launch a short-lived Britpop night called “Popscene” at the same venue. Around the same time Chris landed a regular night-time slot on Festival Radio. Phil, meanwhile, was working in ticketing for the largest concert venue in the city. The partnership was broken up in 1997 when Phil went travelling and Chris immersed himself in the fringes of the electronic music scene, recording under the nom-de-plume “Cold Pierre”.
The pair were reunited in 2003 and began work on a short film entitled “Sunday Matinee”, written and directed by Chris with Phil coming on board as producer. The film was abandoned after just one day of shooting and remains languishing in development hell. In the same year Chris hosted Phil’s web-based photo project “Three” (in which Phil had his photo taken at 3 o’clock every day for a whole year) which was featured in The Argus newspaper.
Chris likes classic movies but doesn’t go to the cinema much. He is currently writing his first novel. Phil is a horror geek and owns a spacesuit from the Danny Boyle film “Sunshine”. He currently writes for a number of websites including Eat My Brains, FrightFest and Dread Central.
“Chris and Phil Present…” is their latest project.
