Interceptor – DVD details

Optimum Releasing have confirmed the UK release date for Russian espionage actioner Interceptor for 22nd February on both DVD and Blu-ray. The first film in a planned trilogy, Interceptor is directed by Konstantin Maximov and features stunning set pieces from the effects team behind the Nightwatch films.

Adapted for the screen from the hugely successful series of novels by popular sci-fi author Vasily Golovachev, Interceptor tells the story of Matvey (Igor Petrenko), a Russian Special Forces agent trained and guided by a celestial brotherhood of time-shifting Angels. Betrayed by his partner when transporting a new psychic weapon and left for dead, Matvey escapes and takes a new identity so he can live in peace far away. But later he is forced to return to Moscow to confront a secret organization, led by his former partner, which attempts to use the dangerous weapon in order to take control over the country. Now he is a key figure in the battle between forces of darkness and light and must fulfill his true destiny as “The Chosen One”.

Special features on the DVD and Blu-ray release include the trailer.

Optimum Releasing will be releasing Interceptor on DVD and Blu-ray on 22nd February and Chris and Phil will be reviewing the film in a future podcast.
